What processor is faster for my laptop core dou or centrino dou?
I have two labtops ones core dou the other is centrino dou which one is faster I realy can't tell the diffrence can a tech geek tell me which one is faster. Thanks for your help.
"Centrino" is one of the most commonly misunderstood brandings that Intel has ever come up with. A lot of people confuse it with a processor, but it is actually considered a "processor technology" which is a set of hardware in a laptop that includes a processor as part of the package.
So what this means is if you get a "Centrino Duo" then you automatically get a laptop using a Core Duo processor with certain other Intel "Centrino" certified hardware to complement it.
Here is an example of what a Centrino laptop consists of:
1. Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor
2. Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset or Mobile Intel® PM965 Express Chipset
3. Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N (optional)
or Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
Recommended technologies
4. Intel® Turbo Memory (optional)
In this case the Core 2 Duo is the processor component of it. If this was a Centrino Duo system, it would instead come with a Core Duo processor instead.
So to answer the question, neither one is faster since you can get a Core Duo that is also a Centrino Duo. If you get a Centrino, then you get all the other Intel certified parts with that processor in your laptop which qualify for the brand name, but if you just get any laptop with a Core Duo processor, it can be just as good, but won't have all Intel parts in it to qualify for the Centrino sticker.
Assuming both laptops have Core Duos in them and they are both clocked at the same speed and are the same model you probably won't see much difference between them.
