USB Ports not working after plugging in USB Midi Keyboard?
I recently purchased a new USB Midi keyboard and after I plugged it in and installed the drivers for it all of my USB devices suddenly stopped working. The midi keyboard and my usb mouse seem to be recieving some power (lcd light on keyboard comes on, red light on underside of mouse comes on but my wacom and d-link do not), however, they are not functioning or even being recognized by windows whenever I plug or unplug them. I've tried everything: Restored default bios settings, removed drivers then rebooted, fresh install of windows, upgrade of windows to sp2, and still nothing. In the device manager there are no exclamations or any sign of errors or malfunctions with my usb. I have 7 ports total. 4 in the back, 3 in front.
If anyone can help I would be so greatful. It's going to cost me too much money to take it in for a diagnosis and repair.

Hmm I am not sure exactly what can be wrong. It might be some sort of failure inside the system. If your computer is under a warrantee I would suggest using it.
The only other solution that I can come up with is getting a PCI usb card. Something similar to this

Its pretty cheap and pretty easy to install. If you not sure how to do it, you can google the instructions on how to do it. What this card will do is give you additional USb ports. Other than that I really don't know what can be done.
Its very weird the fact that your computer does not show you if there is something wrong with the USB ports.
You can make sure that your ports are fine by going to My Computer -> System -> Hardware (Tab) -> Device Manager
Scroll down to see the Universal Serial Bus controllers and click on the + sign. See all the ports that are listed and if any of them flagged with a warning sign.
