Should I buy the Wilton Ultimate Cake Decorating kit for the acmoore classes?
I'm taking cake decorating classes at acmoore and wanted to know should i buy the ultimate cake decorating kit or the individual kits for each class? has anybody taken the classes? how were they? im so excited!
I am a former Wilton Instructor. It has been about 13 years since I stopped teaching so the classes have changed a bit. (And when I took the classes, that was 30 years ago.)
I looked at what's in the Ultimate Cake Decorating Kit and it's very nice! Just realize that there are tools in there for gum paste and fondant. So, if you never planning on doing anything with those products, you may never use those tools. But, for the money, it looks good.
The things I noticed that are not in there are:
Food pastes
Turntable
Cake leveler
Those are the things that jumped out at me I noticed you'll have to buy separately. But, the carrying case alone I think was $50 when I bought one way, way back.
If you have $200, go for it!
And, if you like baking and doing your own cakes, you'll love learning cake decorating! I made some extra money for years doing cakes out of my house. My favorite cake decorating thing is building gingerbread houses - and not just for Christmas. Love doing those!
